Speech Therapy (also known as speech language pathology) is a multi-disciplinary field. Speech therapy can help a variety of people including children with developmental problems and learning difficulties, those needing a full voice restoration program after a laryngectomy due to laryngeal cancer, stammerers and stutterers, those with language difficulties due to head injuries, people with hearing difficulties, patients who have had their language impaired due to a stroke as well as those with voice or language disorders. Speech and language therapists use a variety of methods and treatments to help those with many different types of speech or language impairment.
