A tuberosity is a rounded bony protrusion behind your last molar in the upper jaw. It is covered by your gum. A tuberosity reduction makes the tuberosity smaller. A large tuberosity can interfere with the way the teeth and jaw come together. Excess gum tissue is cut and removed and in some cases the bone underneath it will also be trimmed.
