Medical Travel in Three Easy Steps
Step 1: Your Quote and Consult
24 hour turnaround on your quote request. Your medical package includes all medical costs including hospital stay
Information collection. The Case Manager will collect your medical history including photographs of the surgical area (for cosmetic surgery patients), and/or most recent diagnoses, lab tests and x-rays.
Surgeon communication. Not all cases require a surgical consultation. However, more complex surgeries, or patients with health complicatons, may need multiple contacts with the surgeon - email, conference call, video conference. Your Case Manager will make the necessary arrangements at no cost or obligation to you.
Case Management team dedicated to your case. Each member of our Case Management Team has personal experience at Hospital Angeles Tijuana, and can answer your questions about hospital services as well as the medical travel process.
Step 2: Travel Coordination Services
Approval for surgery. The surgeon will review your completed online medical evaluation, required x-rays or pictures, and consult with you as needed to approve you for surgery.
Meet your Medical Travel Coordinator. After the surgeon has approved your candidacy for surgery you will be contacted by the Medical Travel Coordinator to set up your air reservations (if needed), hotel and discuss any special accommodations you may need.
Plan your Itinerary. Your bilingual medical travel coordinator will provide you with a detailed itinerary that includes a complete schedule that includes:
o Any pre-surgery lab work
o Your procedure
o Expected recovery time
o Local transportation arrangements
o Hotel information
o Airline information
o Important contact numbers
Getting to the hospital. Patients of Hospital Angeles Tijuana fly into San Diego International Airport. You will be picked up at the airport by our comfortable hospital shuttle service and driven across the border using a special convenient medical transport lane.
Hospital Angeles Tijuana is located only minutes away from San Diego. The hospital is a new, modern facility with state-of-the-art medical technology, and features round the clock security for the peace of mind of our patients.
Step 3: After Your Procedure
Release from the hospital/hotel stay. If your surgeon requires follow-up consultation, you can choose to stay at one of our partner hotels in Tijuana or San Diego until you are approved for travel.

You will be provided with medical shuttle transport across the border and to the airport or your San Diego destination
Recovery and follow-up. Once you are home, Hospital Angeles Tijuana will follow up with you to ensure your recovery is going as expected, answer any questions and help address any after care requirements you may have.
