Peru Medical Tours will handle everything, from the preliminary contacts with your health-care providers both in your country and in Lima to after-care consulting once you are back home.

Before the procedure

Prior to your requested procedure, you will have the medical exams requested by your doctor completed. Again we recommend getting your exams done in your home town especially if you are aware of any existing medical conditions that you may have. You will be required to appear at a pre-surgery consultation with your doctor in which he will request these exams. If you are having medical exams performed in Lima, you will be required to have two consultations. You will again be with an English speaking guide/translator and you will be able to ask and receive answers to all of your questions as well as answer any questions the doctors may have for you. As with all your medical visits, we will provide you transportation to these appointments.

The medical procedure

After having completed your medical exams, meeting the doctors and having the pre-surgical procedures completed, you will be scheduled for surgery, usually for the following day. You will be accompanied at all times by your personal assistant. If a number of procedures were necessary, the surgeon may choose to keep you at the clinic for 24 hrs. You will be at this time, as always, accompanied by an English speaking assistant.

Recovery

Once the surgery is complete you will begin your recovery according to the doctor´s instructions. The first few days after surgery being the most important we will assure that you have complete rest and peace of mind. During your recovery, depending on the procedure(s) you had done, you will be required to have one or more appointments with the doctor to follow -up on your recovery. The more procedures you have done, the more appointments you will have to attend.
