The fluid that flows in and out of the eye does so via drainage tubes in the eye. Sometimes these can become blocked and fluid builds up causing pressure on the optic nerve; this is the cause of glaucoma. This can result in a loss of vision, which in severe case can lead to blindness. Glaucoma surgery is a procedure to help treat glaucoma, however, success rates can vary.
